The SkyRugs website includes the perfect combination of design aesthetics and technology as the Online Rug Designer enables site visitors to design a handcrafted custom leather rug on their desktop. Users can easily and intuitively click through the process, selecting size, shape, and the center and border materials from over 400 different leathers, steerhides, wovens, wool and even bamboo. The smooth interface allows the user to switch back and forth between steps, swapping in new materials on the fly.
The entire application was developed to be managed by an administrative interface, where SkyRugs employees can add new materials, colors and patterns with the click of a mouse and immediately update the website. This very complicated system utilized custom database development and Flash animation technology to render a beautiful, fun and user-friendly interface. Try it out!
