OtherWisz consists of Mark and Jill Wisz coupled with a team of professionals trained in a variety of skills- all experts at what they do. Mark Wisz- lead designer: Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Buffalo State College while gaining graphics experience in the design trenches of Buffalo, N.Y. Those years in the trenches included publishing the independent, local street ‘zines Sign O’ The Times and Slack Magazine. A highlight of his publishing career came with a request to appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show for a program profiling the slacker generation. Mark was rejected by her producers when they realized that he actually held a job! In 2000, Mark parlayed his successful freelance career into the establishment of his own firm. Drawing on his sixteen years of experience in pre-press, graphic design, independent publishing and web design, as well as various posts as an in-house art director, Mark opened OtherWisz as a full service graphics and web design company. His loves include his beautiful daughters, Frances and Abigail, vinyl records, hockey and all things graphic! Jill Wisz- lead designer: Known for her keen attention to detail, Jill has been involved in various aspects of design for over fifteen years. Earning a design degree from Buffalo State College and a Masters of Architecture from the University at Buffalo, she recently served as an Intern Architect with Robert Traynham Coles, Architect P.C. as well as being a designer for Johnson/Hehr (Hadley Exhibits) Inc. Jill has created exhibits for zoos, trade shows, museums and visitor centers. Her designs include a freestanding panel system for the gallery in the Buffalo Niagara International Airport and the development of a modular security gate system for ADT. Jill’s dedication and fine work at OtherWisz have made this a successful husband and wife team. Daniel Wangelin- senior designer: Obsessed with design and its impact on every facet of our lives, RIT graduate Daniel Wangelin often spends more time in the grocery store studying the packaging than he does buying food. Dan's diverse background includes several years as a manager of an in-house creative department and experience with logos & branding, packaging, and publication design. Rounding out the talented OtherWisz Creative Design team, Dan also enjoys everything outdoors, traveling, craft beer, and loud rock music -- especially his new found love for The Clash. Robert Maefs- senior developer: With his years of experience working at a successful website development firm and on his own, technologist Robert Maefs is a strong addition to the OtherWisz Creative team. His technical skills and strong focus on details have helped us to eliminate a reliance on outside contract developers. Robert combines a strong affinity for technology with the ability to lead, organize, and coordinate people and their various tools and systems. Robert is interested in all aspects of human-technology interaction with a focus on the organizational and operational aspects of motivated teams leveraging technology to increase productivity.
